Bio

Current project: THE RED THREAD
When Mensi finally enters Isabel's life as her personal and non-transferable menstruation she realizes that she is not welcome. By anybody. All her training had revolved around the fact of learning to accompany a woman, month after month a couple of days until Mrs. Menopause arrived. And now what?
Isabel does not even show that she's happy! Mensi can not believe it. Tough as she is, she sets out to clarify the situation and find out why in Isabel's world menstrual-matters like her are so ignored, tabooed and even rejected. Mensi observes people, visits experts on the subject and holds conversations with all kinds of people. The image presented is demolishing.

Mensi faces the challenge of changing her image within Isabel's society.

Will she succeed?

Through Mensi we observe our menstrual world from a distance as intense as it is enlightening. The taboo around menstruation, reduced and parked on the shelves of the supermarket as "feminine hygiene products" reveals an ingrained and deep feeling of shame and shows that this shame is the symptom of a problem that affects gender equality and that is much bigger than we imagine.

THE RED THREAD tackles in a funny and varied way the role played by menstruation in our society. Mensi intends to change Isabel's world and discover a whole range of feminist projects that provide solutions to the rather negative results of her first impressions in our world. With Mensi we meet among others a feminist who gives vulva-watching courses, a wrestling-star and a menstruating man.

After watching this movie you will love your period above all else and if you are a man and don’t menstruate, you’ll pull your hair out….

In either case, The Red Thread will not leave you indifferent!

***This film is an independent production and it is being financed exclusively with funds related to the crowdfunding and also especially with the generosity of the entire team of preproduction, production and postproduction. In addition, fortunately, the students of a school in Barcelona (Illustration and Animation) are also involved.***
